Paula Penson serves as the instructor/coordinator of the Floyd County Sheriff's Office's C.H.A.M.P.S. program. Deputy Penson was born and raised in Alabama where she became a graduate of Gaylesville High School and is a long standing rhttps://img1.wsimg.com/isteam/ip/0e8c9097-d06f-4932-8937-5147b5cf55e1/logo/cf76c559-890a-4643-8746-33d69bb789ff.png/:/rs=h:276/llesident of Rome-Floyd County where she raised her family. Deputy Penson holds an Associates in Science Degree from Shorter University.
Deputy Penson initially began her career with the Floyd County Sheriff's Office in 1998, serving until 2010, at which time she became the Director of Campus Safety for Shorter University. Deputy Penson returned "home" to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office in 2018 , working in the Detention Division. In September of 2018, Deputy Penson, having already served as one of the original CHAMPS instructors for the State of Georgia, was asked to take over the as the Instructor/Coordinator for the CHAMPS Program.
Deputy Penson is enjoying time as our C.H.A.M.P.S. coordinator and is an active part of the Floyd County Sheriff's Office and our Youth Initiative programs. She has a sincere desire to help your child become the best they can be both as a person and as a student.
